"Maison Ginette": a family home

Built in 1967, the house was closed for more than 10 years after the death of my aunt Ginette, it was sold to us "in its original condition" with all the furniture, period decorative elements, crockery, etc.

We completely renovated it in 2022/2023, first with the help of local craftsmen and then with family.

The house was then carefully restored with an eye to upcycling: we tried to reuse the furniture; the chest of drawers became a bathroom cabinet, the family kitchen table was repainted, we reused the chairs when possible, all the windows were used to create a greenhouse at my daughter's house... Some of the crockery you will find in the kitchen is period!

Particular emphasis has been placed on the decoration: it is our family home but we share it with you and we wanted everyone to feel good there.We chose warm colors, we worked with raw materials such as waxed concrete for the kitchen worktop, Oukoumé wood for the kitchen doors, OSB to create the bathroom furniture, rattan for a headboard....

The whole thing creates a harmonious atmosphere: we hope you like the house as much as we do!

We come to Oléron as often as possible; the house and especially the kitchen are perfectly equipped.

The interior of the house

The interior of the house is divided into a day area and a night area.

• A large living room of 50m2
  • The kitchen is very well equipped :

    • Coffee machine with grinder, milk frother, toaster…
    • Small household appliances
    • dining area for 8 people
    • Laundry roomwith additional fridge, washing machine, iron and ironing board and household products and storage shelves for beach gear and dressing area

• The living room has 2 sofas, a library with tourist documentation, 1 SAMSUNG connected TV, high-speed internet and a pellet stove (pellets are provided if needed)

• 4 bedrooms with storage and new bedding
  • All rooms have 1 bed 160 * 200, 1 duvet 220 * 240, 2 pillows 65 * 65, 1 bedspread
  • Bed linen is not provided
  • All rooms are equipped with disposable pillow covers to ensure clean and healthy bedding for every traveler.
• 1 separate WC
• 2 bathrooms with shower, hair dryer,
• Ideal for families: baby chair, travel cot, board games and books available.
• Ideal for working: high-speed WIFI, RJ 45 sockets in all rooms

The exteriors of the house

• The wooden pergola is covered by a sail

2 bamboo sofas with cushions (@haomy), 2 coffee tables, 1 guinguette garland and 1 rattan hanging light create an atmosphere conducive to long evenings outdoors.

• The large outdoor terrace is made of wood

The dining area is protected by a French-made coconut sail (@la scoutinerie). The dining table is designed for 8 guests.

For outdoor cooking enthusiasts, a gas plancha is available in an outdoor kitchen/mini bar area.

* A heated outdoor swimming pool:

Heating period : in principle from mid-May to mid-September, heating depending on outside temperatures – do not hesitate to contact us, these dates may vary depending on the weather)

Weekly pool maintenance in season is included in the rental price

Safety : The pool is covered with a movable wooden terrace closed by an approved latch system. The terrace is very easy to operate; it slides on rails to completely cover the pool.

Wooden terrace around the swimming pool , deckchairs, deckchairs and wooden Adirondack chairs and cushions are at your disposal.
